I have to do everything!

Hank and I are working really hard at not guffawing when Shira comes out with this one. Usually it’s when we ask her to take her plate to the sink or some chore like that. “Why do I have to do everything?” she’ll wail, followed by the evil look and fingers-scraping-the-ground-like-an-ape stalk to do whatever it is we asked. The other night I said I was sorry I didn’t have a video camera to catch it. I’d love to play it back when she’s all grown up.

She found her laminated name for the pre-K job chart and said we should make a job chart for at home. Talking about it later, post-bedtime for Shira, I said we should make one with a single job that says “do everything.”
